Media literacy game that develops awareness of fear-based thinking
We are developing a game to help students understand how fear affects thinking and perception, recognize the use of fear and misinformation in media, and develop critical thinking and social-emotional learning skills to help them work together to solve problems.
Our game addresses the diminished sense of belonging and emotional isolation that is contributing to increasing rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide among young people. Evaluation and research components as well as options for teacher and student input are being built into the structure of the game.
We are looking for educational institutional partners and potential funders or sponsors to support our goal to help students develop critical media literacy and social-emotional skills needed to deal with an uncertain future.
